Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with pupils, helping them manage their behaviour and achieve their potential.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:
- Work 1:1 and with small groups to provide tailored behaviour support.
- Assist in managing challenging behaviours in the classroom and around the school.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to promote engagement and positive attitudes to learning.
- Support teaching staff in delivering lessons by maintaining a calm and productive classroom environment.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies.
- Act as a mentor to pupils, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has experience working with young people with challenging behaviours, ideally in a school setting.
- Is resilient, patient, and confident in managing challenging situations.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is proactive, adaptable, and committed to helping students succeed.
- Has a genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome challenges.
